ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Two groups petitioned the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday for an investigation of Royal Dutch Shell PLC and what the groups call misstatements in regulatory filings regarding the risk of a catastrophic oil spill from Arctic offshore drilling. Mike LeVine, an attorney for Oceana, argued that Shell has not disclosed to investors that its response measures to a major or catastrophic spill are unlikely to work.

The Strong museum in Rochester says it received thousands of nominations after announcing creation of the hall of fame earlier this year. A list of 15 finalists will be announced on Tuesday from which a committee of experts will choose the first inductees.

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Closing arguments are expected to be held Tuesday in the trial of a New York City investment banker accused of raping an Irish tourist on Long Island. Prosecutors say Lee met the woman at a nightclub in the Hamptons while celebrating his birthday. She and her friends went to Lee's home following a night of drinking.
