(AP) — Federal immigration officials say the driver of a suspicious vehicle that was stopped at a security checkpoint as it tried to enter an Army arsenal in New Jersey is on track to be deported. The arsenal was evacuated for several hours after security personnel noticed something suspicious within the vehicle. Authorities treated the situation as an explosive threat but haven't said what raised suspicions.

Trucking group urges government to get moving on rule requiring big-rig speed limiters

DETROIT (AP) — The nation's largest trucking industry group wants the government to get moving on a rule requiring electronic speed-limiting devices on big rigs. The statement follows a story by The Associated Press last month revealing that most big truck tires aren't designed to go over 75 mph. Yet 14 states mainly west of the Mississippi River have speed limits of 75 or above. Texas, Wyoming, Utah and South Dakota have limits of 80 or higher.
