NEW YORK (AP) — President Barack Obama on Monday will unveil the final version of his unprecedented regulations clamping down on carbon dioxide emissions from existing U.S. power plants. The president says climate change is no longer a problem for another generation to address. The finalized rule gives states more time — until 2022 — to comply. But it also requires steeper cuts in overall carbon dioxide emissions than the previous plan.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A hitchhiking robot that captured the hearts of fans worldwide met its demise in the U.S. "Sadly, sadly it's come to an end," said Frauke Zeller, one of its co-creators. The kid-size robot set out to travel cross-country after successfully hitchhiking across Canada in 26 days last year and parts of Europe. It's immobile on its own, relying on the kindness of strangers. Those who picked it up often passed it to other travelers or left it where others might notice it.

The previous record was set in February 2014, when 1,363 people sponsored by the dining discount company TangoTab made sandwiches at the same time in Dallas.
