Domtar beats 2Q earnings expectations, misses revenue forecasts

MONTREAL (AP) _ Domtar Corp. (UFS) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $38 million. On a per-share basis, the Montreal-based company said it had profit of 60 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 61 cents per share. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 50 cents per share.

IdaCorp posts profit of $66.1 million in second quarter

BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ IdaCorp Inc. (IDA) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $66.1 million. On a per-share basis, the Boise, Idaho-based company said it had profit of $1.31. The utility company posted revenue of $336.3 million in the period. IdaCorp expects full-year earnings to be $3.75 to $3.90 per share.

Procter & Gamble slid almost 3 percent in early trading Thursday after reporting that its sales fell for the sixth straight quarter. Facebook declined 2 percent after reporting late Wednesday that its expenses soared 82 percent, cutting into earnings.

Bofi posts 4Q profit, results top Street expectations

SAN DIEGO (AP) _ BofI Holding Inc. (BOFI) on Thursday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $24.3 million. The bank, based in San Diego, said it had earnings of $1.54 per share. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.38 per share.
