PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — An anchor for Fox News is suing Hasbro for more than $5 million over a toy hamster that shares her name — and possibly even her resemblance. "Hasbro's portrayal of Faulkner as a rodent is demeaning and insulting," says the lawsuit, which was filed Monday in U.S. District Court in New Jersey.

Troubled Puerto Rico power company reaches debt deal with bondholders

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — The troubled state-owned Puerto Rico power company announced a restructuring plan Wednesday with some of its creditors that would provide breathing room for an island staggering under the weight of its public debt. The deal, if approved by bondholders outside the group, would reduce the principal by $670 million and would save $700 million in interest payments and principal over the next five years. It is part of a broader plan to restructure debt and overhaul operations at the utility known as PREPA.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — U.S. transportation officials on Wednesday offered $10 million in grants for states to upgrade highway-rail crossings and tracks in response to a recent surge in flammable fuel shipments. The grants would pay for improvements along rail routes that transport flammable fuels. Shipments of crude oil and ethanol increased dramatically over the past decade before energy prices plummeted.

Regulators concede some water from PolyMet copper-nickel mine might reach Boundary Waters

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Federal and state regulators have conceded that potentially polluted water from the proposed PolyMet copper-nickel mine could flow toward the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness instead of away from it, as intended. The problem, which was identified by scientists working for the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, was first reported last month by the Timberjay, an Ely weekly newspaper.
