TOKYO (AP) — The U.S. and Japan need further work to resolve differences on autos and farm exports that are hindering progress toward a Pacific Rim trade deal, U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman said Tuesday. "The gap was substantially narrowed but continued work is ultimately required to resolve these issues," Froman told reporters.

Order outlines $3.2 million payments to 7 homeowners, attorneys in Chinese drywall case

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A federal court has released $3.2 million to be divided among seven Virginia homeowners and their lawyers from a manufacturer of defective Chinese drywall. Headquartered in China's Shandong province, Taishan Gypsum Co. made the $3.2 million payment last month. Fallon had earlier held Taishan and related companies in contempt for failing to show up for earlier proceedings.

Judge sends ultra-rich club founder Tim Blixseth back to jail over financial disclosures

(AP) — A federal judge ordered the founder of a luxury Montana mountain resort back to jail Monday, saying he failed to disclose what happened to $13.8 million from the sale of a resort in Mexico. U.S. District Judge Sam Haddon found Blixseth had not complied with orders requiring a complete accounting of how the money was spent.
