LOS ANGELES (AP) — Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wrapped up his U.S. visit in Los Angeles on Friday where he shared his vision for strengthened economic and political ties between the two allies. U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker said the United States and Japan will work toward promoting more direct investment in each other's markets and approval of a Pacific trade agreement.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Farmers and other agriculture industry leaders will fan out across Kansas in the coming days to examine the extent of damage to winter wheat from drought, disease and winterkill. The group's hard red winter wheat tour has drawn a record number of expected participants this year, with more than 90 people signed up, said Marsha Boswell, spokeswoman for the industry group Kansas Wheat. She said it's not clear what has spurred so much interest, but some think social media may be playing a part.
