TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey fell just short of a recent health insurance exchange enrollment target, and a bigger deadline looms at the end of the month. The goal set last year for enrollment in the federally run insurance marketplace was nearly 77,000. Officials hope the state has 96,000 people registered by the end of this month. Just under one-fourth of those with plans in New Jersey are in the 18 to 34 age group.

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — The federal government says more than 25,000 Maine residents have picked health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act, surpassing the target set by President Barack Obama's administration for the entire enrollment period that ends this month. Maine is one of 16 states that are using the federally-run exchange. Nationally, nearly 4.2 million people have signed up for private insurance under the health care law.

NEW YORK (AP) — Oprah Winfrey's latest book project is a collection of magazine columns by a writer she knows quite well. Oprah Winfrey. "What I Know for Sure" features the monthly essays that Winfrey has written for O, the Oprah Magazine over the past 14 years. Flatiron Books, a new nonfiction imprint of Macmillan, announced Wednesday that "What I Know for Sure" will come out Sept. 2. It will be the imprint's first release.

The U.S. stock market was headed for a lower open Wednesday as concerns about China's economic outlook weighed on investors. CHINA IN SPOTLIGHT: The catalyst for the latest market downturn was news this week that Chinese exports slumped in February. Since China is a big consumer of raw materials and energy, commodities such as copper and iron ore have dropped sharply. Copper has fallen to its lowest level since 2010.
