Liberty Tax posts loss of $8.5 million in first quarter

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) _ Liberty Tax Inc. (TAX) on Friday reported a loss of $8.5 million in its fiscal first quarter. On a per-share basis, the Virginia Beach, Virginia-based company said it had a loss of 67 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense, were 65 cents per share. The tax preparer posted revenue of $7.5 million in the period.
