Lawsuit says defective lawnmower injures man

A lawsuit in Mississippi says a man was seriously injured after he was attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets, jumped off his riding lawnmower and was run over by the machine. Many lawnmowers have devices that will shut down the engine if the rider gets off the seat while the blades are engaged. In this case, Garfias says the switch was defective.

Schumer urges look at security in Sprint deal

Sen. Charles Schumer is urging regulators to "use extreme caution" when reviewing the proposed acquisition of No. 3 cell carrier Sprint Nextel by Japan's Softbank. The Japanese company uses Chinese networking equipment, which Schumer says could open up U.S. networks to snooping and hacking. Softbank has offered to remove the Chinese-made equipment in Sprint Nextel Corp.'s network. It hopes to close on the deal on July 1.
