NTSB: Train that crashed into stalled train in Arkansas was coming to help, going too fast

WINSLOW, Ark. (AP) — A National Transportation Safety Board member says a train that collided with a stalled passenger train in Arkansas was coming to help the train and was apparently going too fast. Rosekind says the train should have been moving at no more than 20 miles per hour, but appears to have been traveling 25 miles per hour. Rosekind said the estimation is preliminary and based on information from recorders on the assist train.

Officials working to contain out-of-control well in North Dakota leaking oil, gas, water

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — Workers are attempting to contain an out-of-control oil well in North Dakota, authorities said Friday. North Dakota regulators said a well near Watford City in the western part of the state has been leaking oil, gas and water since Thursday. The Oil and Gas Division said 300 barrels of oil and water have been contained and recovered at the well location. They described the incident as a mechanical failure at a wellhead.

Facebook to federal drug agency: Don't use fake profile pages for law enforcement

WASHINGTON (AP) — Facebook wants assurances from the Drug Enforcement Administration that it's not operating any more fake profile pages as part of ongoing investigations. Sullivan's letter was in response to a New York woman's federal lawsuit claiming that a DEA agent created a fake online persona using her name and photographs stored on her cellphone.

FDA approves new labeling for Pfizer's Embeda, a painkiller designed to prevent abuse

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says it has approved new labeling for another opioid designed to limit painkiller abuse. Embeda, when crushed, has a component that blocks some of the euphoric effects abusers seek. But when swallowed intact, it can still be misused. It is still unknown if the drug will reduce intravenous abuse.
