PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh's Bike Share program is averaging 12,000 rides per month since the innovative program began in July. The program has 500 rental bikes at 50 stations in 11 of the city's neighborhoods. People can rent the bikes for $2 per half-hour, or by purchasing a membership for unlimited 30-minute rides for $12 a month or unlimited $60-minute rides for $20 a month.

PARIS (AP) — Union activists protesting proposed layoffs at Air France stormed the headquarters during a meeting about the job cuts Monday, zeroing in on two managers who had their shirts torn from their bodies, scaled a fence and fled under police protection. Alexandre de Juniac, the CEO of Air France-KLM, had announced Friday the company would have to cut jobs after failing to reach an agreement with pilots. French media, citing the unions, on Monday reported a proposal to slash 2,900 jobs.
