An airline passenger from Mexico caught in Texas with nearly 4 pounds of heroin in her suitcases has been sentenced to three years in prison. Cabanillas-Torres told investigators she was a law school student when she was arrested last October at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport. She arrived on a United Airlines flight from Quito, Ecuador, and was then heading to Newark, N.J.
Salt Lake City gears up for $1.8B new airport

Mountain views, faster takeoffs and workout equipment are a few things Salt Lake City officials are considering as they draw up plans for a nearly $2 billion remake of the city's airport. Some wings of the airport are about 50 years old. Others date back over 30 years. That means a new facility is overdue, said Salt Lake City International Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann.
