NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top banks companies were down at the close of trading: Bank of America Corp. fell $.23 or 1.3 percent, to $16.82. Citigroup Inc. fell $.72 or 1.4 percent, to $51.10. Goldman Sachs fell $2.87 or 1.6 percent, to $180.70. JPMorgan Chase fell $.47 or .8 percent, to $59.77.

Airlines companies shares down at the close of trading

NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top airlines companies were down at the close of trading: Delta Air fell $1.25 or 3.5 percent, to $34.90. JetBlue Airways Corp. fell $.38 or 3.5 percent, to $10.25. Southwest Airlines Co. fell $1.22 or 3.6 percent, to $32.55. United Continental Holdings Inc. fell $1.32 or 2.8 percent, to $45.47.

Judge: Stockton, California, must follow bankruptcy laws, pay creditors and pension fund

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the city of Stockton must follow U.S. bankruptcy laws and pay its creditors as well as its pension fund. Much of the case centers on whether Stockton's payments to the California Public Employees' Retirement System are off limits to creditors as the city tries to end its Chapter 9 protection.
