Albany International posts profit of $12.2 million in first quarter

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ Albany International Corp. (AIN) on Monday reported first-quarter net income of $12.2 million. The Albany, New York-based company said it had profit of 38 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 45 cents per share. The textile and composite maker posted revenue of $181.3 million in the period.

Brazil prosecutors weigh investigating ex-leader Silva for overseas business lobbying

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Federal prosecutors in Brazil confirmed Monday that they are weighing whether to open a full investigation into former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's alleged overseas lobbying efforts for the scandal-plagued construction firm Odebrecht, the nation's biggest builder. Such a crime could carry a sentence of up to five years in jail.

Cimarex Energy reports first-quarter loss, misses expectations

DENVER (AP) _ Cimarex Energy Co. (XEC) on Monday reported a first-quarter loss of $414.9 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier. The Denver-based company said it had a loss of $4.84 per share. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs, came to 37 cents per share. The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 16 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 35 cents per share.

Douglas Dynamics posts 1st-quarter profit of $378,000

MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Douglas Dynamics Inc. (PLOW) on Monday reported first-quarter profit of $378,000. The Milwaukee-based company said it had profit of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 6 cents per share. The snowplow maker posted revenue of $53.9 million in the period.
