New Hampshire tourism officials are predicting an increase in visitors and spending this Memorial Day weekend, though the outlook is not as optimistic as it was last year. Division of Travel and Tourism director Lori Harnois says many of the state's parks, attractions and businesses are opening for the season this weekend.
FBR to buy back up to 1.25M in shares

Shares of FBR & Co. rose Tuesday after the investment bank opened a modified "Dutch auction" tender offer to buy up to 1.25 million shares, or about 10.6 percent, of its outstanding common stock. In a Dutch auction, shareholders can decide how many shares they want to tender and at what price within a specified range. Based on that information, the company then determines the lowest price per share within the range that lets it buy the amount of shares that it wants.
New Minn. taxes to get more scrutiny next year

Top Minnesota lawmakers purposely delayed the start of a new sales tax on warehousing services until next April in case they need to revise or undo it before then. A new tax on equipment repairs has also stirred up farm country lawmakers. A late fix to exempt farm equipment repairs didn't get made, but leaders pledged to do that early next year.
