That is one of several environmental and company-governance resolutions on the agenda at the oil giant's annual meeting Wednesday in Dallas. CEO Rex Tillerson is expected to discuss the outlook of the company, which has seen profits decline recently with lower prices for crude oil. Still, the company earned $32 billion last year.

DRESDEN, Germany (AP) — Top finance officials from the Group of Seven wealthy democracies are gathering in Germany this week to discuss ways to strengthen the global economy. Study reveals shortcomings in gene testing; results on estimating disease risk often conflict

The first report from a big public-private project to improve genetic testing reveals it is not as rock solid as many people believe, with flaws that result in some people wrongly advised to worry about a disease risk and others wrongly told they can relax. "We have very clear documentation that there are differences in what patients are getting" in terms of how tests on the same gene variations are interpreted, said the study leader, Heidi Rehm, genetics lab chief at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

The first report from a big project to improve genetic testing shows it is not as rock solid as many people believe. Researchers say consumers getting a gene test should choose a lab that is sharing its results with other scientists to help make testing more accurate for everyone. The study was discussed Wednesday at a conference in Washington and published online by the New England Journal of Medicine.
