KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A jury says Time Warner Cable is largely responsible for a fatal natural gas explosion that leveled an upscale Kansas City restaurant. The brothers who operated the restaurant, David and Jimmy Frantze, wanted more than $9 million in damages from Time Warner and USIC Locating Services, which contracts with utility companies.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A new report estimates Apple shipped 3.6 million watches in the last quarter — more than some analysts have estimated and enough to change the competitive landscape for fitness bands and other wearable gadgets. Since its introduction this spring, industry experts have debated how successful the new Apple Watch will be. Apple has not revealed how many watches it has sold, and some analysts have concluded consumer interest is lukewarm. IDC says its estimates are based on Apple's financial reports and interviews with suppliers, distributors and consumers.

The medical supplies maker posted revenue of $1.14 billion in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.18 billion.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece's first female prime minister, a top judge, was sworn in Thursday to head a caretaker government ahead of early elections next month in the bailout-dependent country. Her main task will be to hold the reins until a new government emerges from the vote expected on Sept. 20.
