Chrysler abruptly agreed to recall 2.7 million older model Jeeps Tuesday, reversing a defiant posture and avoiding a possible public relations nightmare over fuel tanks that can catch fire in a rear-end collision. Earlier this month, the company refused the government's request to recall Jeep Grand Cherokees from model years 1993 through 2004 and Jeep Libertys from 2002 through 2007. The company said calls from concerned customers played a part in its reversing course.
Court: Ex-Im Bank needs to justify Air India loan

A federal bank that backed a huge airplane loan for Air India will have to explain that the loan didn't hurt U.S. airlines. The Court of Appeals in Washington did not force the bank to reverse the loan guarantee, as Delta had asked. But the ruling says the bank needs to follow the law and provide more justification for the loan.
NYC to offer free phone-charging stations in parks

The city is teaming up with AT&T to install 25 solar-powered charging stations in parks across the five boroughs. The charges will provide a free boost to dying phones and other mobile devices.

We're sorry, sir, but we don't have any cars left. That was my unpleasant welcome to Michigan by Hertz. I had a reservation. They saw the reservation. The problem: Hertz hadn't actually saved me a car. So here I was, just off a plane in Kalamazoo, suitcase in tow and no car. I wasn't the only one stranded and _ I later learned from my cab driver _ it happens somewhat regularly.
