Men's Wearhouse ousts founder, pitchman Zimmer
1 hour, 54 minutes ago
Men's Wearhouse doesn't like the way its founder looks anymore. The company announced the move in a terse statement that gave no reason for the abrupt firing of Zimmer, who built Men's Wearhouse Inc. from one small Texas store using a cigar box as a cash register to one of the North America's largest men's clothing sellers with 1,143 locations.
ND judge allows new complaint to abortion lawsuit
1 hour, 54 minutes ago
A North Dakota judge on Wednesday agreed to combine a lawsuit that challenges a new requirement for doctors who perform abortions with litigation over a 2011 law that limits the use of drugs to terminate pregnancies. The Fargo judge has not issued a formal ruling on either suit. However, in April he said he would rule in favor of the abortion clinic in its challenge of the law limiting abortion-inducing drugs. Corwin, who had already granted an injunction preventing the law from taking effect, called that legislation "simply wrongheaded."
Protesters out again in Brazilian cities
1 hour, 56 minutes ago
Scattered street demonstrations popped up around Brazil Wednesday as protesters continued their collective cry against the low-quality public services they receive in exchange for high taxes and rising prices. In the northeastern city of Fortaleza, some 15,000 protesters clashed with police trying to prevent them from reaching the Castelao stadium where Brazil were to play Mexico in the Confederations Cup soccer tournament on Wednesday.
