BACK TO COURT: Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. is asking a federal appeals court for an exemption from part of the federal health care law that requires it to offer employees health coverage that includes access to the morning-after pill. THE BACKTROUND: Lower courts have rejected Hobby Lobby's claim, saying that for-profit businesses aren't covered by an exemption for religious organizations. That exemption applies to churches themselves, but not to affiliated nonprofit corporations, like hospitals.
Dental equipment sales lift Patterson 4Q income

Patterson Cos. net income rose 2 percent in the fourth quarter on improved sales of dental equipment and software, but sales in the medical unit slid and the company expects more of the same in the near term. However, within the rehabilitation supply and equipment unit, sales declined to $123.6 million from $130.0 million.
