BANGKOK (AP) — Thai Union Frozen Products announced Friday it is acquiring Bumble Bee Seafoods, a major seller of canned tuna in the United States, for $1.5 billion. Thai Union's statement says it has annual sales exceeding 100 billion baht ($3 billion) with a worldwide workforce of more than 35,000. San Diego-based Bumble Bee generates annual sales of approximately $1 billion with a workforce of more than 1,300 people.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — PATH's Exchange Place and World Trade Center stations reopen this weekend after nearly a year without weekend service because of Superstorm Sandy repairs and signal upgrades. The agency says it made significant progress installing new computerized signals. The Positive Train Control system helps reduce human or mechanical errors and provides added safety.

HONG KONG (AP) — A Hong Kong jury found a billionaire property developer and a former top government official guilty of corruption Friday after a high profile trial that amplified anger at the city's elite. At the time of the offenses, Hui was Hong Kong's No. 2 official. He was found guilty on charges of misconduct and conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office. Kwok's younger brother Raymond, also a billionaire, was found not guilty.

TYRE, N.Y. (AP) — The developer behind one the three new casino locations chosen for upstate New York isn't wasting any time getting started with construction. Wilmorite's Lago Resort & Casino Hotel was one of three Las Vegas-style casino projects chosen Wednesday by the state Gaming Facility Location Board. The other two will be built in the Catskills in Sullivan County and in the city of Schenectady.
