Jason Industries posts loss of $1.6 million in second quarter

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jason Industries Inc. on Friday reported a loss of $1.6 million in its second quarter. The Milwaukee-based company said it had a loss of 7 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 12 cents per share. The manufacturing company posted revenue of $187.6 million in the period.

DENVER (AP) — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee earned nearly $1 million in 2014 from speeches and nearly $3 million more from a publishing company that he runs. Huckabee gave 44 paid speeches between January 2014 and last April. He earned between $10,000 and $32,000 for each speech, most of them to religious groups.

Judge blocks more video releases by anti-abortion group behind Planned Parenthood recordings

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal judge has blocked the release of any recordings made at meetings of abortion providers by an anti-abortion group that previously revealed secretly recorded videos of a Planned Parenthood leader. The federation says the Center for Medical Progress infiltrated its meetings and recorded its members. The group says release of any audio or video would put providers in danger.

Pipeline companies in Mayflower spill settlement say they won't move pipeline from watershed

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Two subsidiaries of ExxonMobil said in a court filing Friday that they won't move the Pegasus Pipeline from beneath the watershed where Central Arkansas gets most of its drinking water. State and federal officials have said the negotiations for the settlement were thorough and have urged the judge to approve the agreement. A utility spokesman was out of town late Friday and was unavailable for comment.
