CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire's highest court upheld a record $236 million judgment Friday against Exxon Mobil for its use of a gasoline additive that contaminated groundwater in the state. Lawyers for Exxon Mobil asked the court for a new trial. They said the company used MTBE to meet federal Clean Air Act mandates to reduce air pollution and shouldn't be held liable for sites contaminated by unnamed parties, such as owners of junk yards and independent gas stations.

Once a broadcast news division president, David Westin now goes on the air for Bloomberg

NEW YORK (AP) — As ABC News president in 2006, David Westin appointed Charles Gibson anchor of the network's flagship "World News." Nine years later, Gibson returned the favor. Justin Smith, chief executive of Bloomberg Media, was considering revamping the network's morning lineup when he kicked around ideas over lunch with the now-retired Gibson. When the talk turned to anchors, Gibson asked, "how willing are you to step outside the box?"

Amid rebuilding, Maine's scallop fishery to see cuts as some fishermen cheer conservation

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A plan to place new restrictions on Maine's scalloping industry is the right way to ensure that the fishery keeps rebuilding, some fishermen say. The fishery is also on the mend, as fishermen caught nearly 4.9 million pounds of the scallops last year, up from less than 700,000 pounds five years earlier. Catches sometimes topped 10 million pounds in the 1990s.

ATLANTA (AP) — Delta's slowing growth is leading to flights with fewer empty seats. The figures include Delta Connection flights that use smaller planes. Capacity on those regional flights declined 5.6 percent.
