Trupanion reports first-quarter loss but tops expectations

SEATTLE (AP) _ Trupanion Inc. (TRUP) on Tuesday reported a loss of $4.9 million in its first quarter. On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had a loss of 18 cents. The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 20 cents per share.

TriNet Group beats 1Q earnings expectations, misses revenue forecasts

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (AP) _ TriNet Group Inc. (TNET) on Tuesday reported first-quarter earnings of $15.8 million. On a per-share basis, the San Leandro, California-based company said it had profit of 22 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 35 cents per share. The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 33 cents per share.

Hemp production growing sharply in Kentucky as processors start to make limited investments

(AP) — Kentucky's second hemp crop in decades is expected to surpass 1,700 acres, up from about three dozen acres a year ago, as the versatile crop's comeback starts to attract interest from processors looking to turn it into products, state agriculture officials said Tuesday. Comer predicted that within a decade, hemp will take its place as a major Kentucky crop.
