Titan Machinery reports first-quarter loss but tops expectations

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) _ Titan Machinery Inc. (TITN) on Thursday reported a loss of $6.2 million in its fiscal first quarter. The West Fargo, North Dakota-based company said it had a loss of 29 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 13 cents per share. The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 22 cents per share.

Culture, Media and Sport Secretary John Whittingdale said Thursday that "change in the leadership of FIFA is very badly needed."

Applications for US unemployment benefits likely fell last week from very low levels

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Labor Department reports on the number of people who applied for unemployment benefits last week at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Thursday. That would keep applications at a historically low level. Last week, the government said the four-week average of applications, a less volatile measure, fell to the lowest level since April 2000.
