Costamare posts 3Q profit of $37.1 million, result matches expectations

ATHENS, Greece (AP) _ Costamare Inc. (CMRE) on Friday reported profit of $37.1 million in its third quarter. The Athens, Greece-based company said it had net income of 45 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 38 cents per share. The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 38 cents per share.

Dow, S&P 500 are back at record highs as the stock market closes out a seesaw month

NEW YORK (AP) — Major U.S. stock indexes are back at record highs after a turbulent month. Stocks rallied in the U.S. and overseas after Japan's central bank surprised investors with a new round of economic stimulus. Just two weeks ago the U.S. market had its biggest slump in two years. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 194 points, or 1.1 percent, to close at an all-time high of 17,390 Friday. The Standard & Poor's 500 reached its own record, climbing 23 points, or 1.2 percent, to 2,017.

Wheat and oats lower, corn and soybeans higher on the CBOT; beef was mixed and pork higher on the CME.

CHICAGO (AP) — Grain futures were mixed Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for Dec delivery fell 3.50 cents to $5.3250 a bushel; Dec corn was 2.75 cents higher at 3.7675 a bushel; Dec oats fell 2.25 cents to $3.3625 a bushel; while Nov soybeans advanced 22.25 cents to $10.4650 a bushel. Beef was mixed and pork was higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
