Snapple co-founder Leonard Marsh dies at 80

Leonard Marsh _ the co-founder of the Snapple beverage brand _ has died at age 80. Marsh was a window washer when he launched the business and ultimately served as Snapple's CEO for many years. Snapple's popularity soared in the 1980s as consumers clamored for healthier beverage options. The Quaker Oats Co. bought Snapple in 1994 for $1.7 billion and Marsh stayed on for some time after the acquisition.

Shuttered NM plant resumes making peanut butter

The eastern New Mexico peanut butter plant shuttered eight months ago after a salmonella outbreak is back in production, and company officials say their coveted natural and organic butters could be back on store shelves within a month. "The restart of the plant is not as simple as turning on a switch," Coburn said Thursday. "Hopefully we will be back in full production in the next few days."

ESPN hires sports radio host Paul Finebaum

Longtime Alabama sports talk show host Paul Finebaum is joining ESPN and the SEC Network. ESPN announced Thursday that Finebaum will host a daily radio show from Charlotte, N.C., starting in August. He will also make appearances on other platforms for the network. The SEC Network, scheduled to launch in August 2014, will simulcast Finebaum's afternoon show. He's the network's first on-air hire.

45 people indicted in Hungary in match-fixing scam

Hungarian prosecutors have indicted a Singapore businessman and 44 Hungarians suspected of being involved in an international match-fixing conspiracy. According to the indictment, a Hungarian suspect and his associates joined an Asian-based match-fixing organization in 2010. The scam is believed to have been masterminded by Tan Seet Eng of Singapore, also known as Dan Tan, the world's most wanted and elusive match-fixing suspect.
