LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Rexford Industrial Realty Inc. (REXR) on Wednesday reported a key measure of profitability in its first quarter. The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for funds from operations of 20 cents per share.

Marin Software reports 1st-quarter loss but tops expectations

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Marin Software Inc. (MRIN) on Wednesday reported a loss of $9.7 million in its first quarter. The San Francisco-based company said it had a loss of 27 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 15 cents per share. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 20 cents per share.

Demand Media reports first-quarter loss but tops expectations

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) _ Demand Media Inc. (DMD) on Wednesday reported a loss of $6.7 million in its first quarter. On a per-share basis, the Santa Monica, California-based company said it had a loss of 34 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 16 cents per share. The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 56 cents per share.

Bair, FDIC chief during financial crisis, is named president of Maryland's Washington College

CHESTERTOWN, Md. (AP) — Sheila Bair, who led the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. during the financial crisis, has been named president of Maryland's Washington College, a private liberal arts school. Bair was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2006 as FDIC chairwoman, becoming one of the key regulators shaping the government's response to the crisis that struck in September 2008.
