ST LOUIS (AP) _ Centene Corp. (CNC) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $88 million. The St. Louis-based company said it had net income of 72 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 73 cents per share. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 69 cents per share.

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) _ United Therapeutics Corp. (UTHR) on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $99.2 million. The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.26 per share. The drugmaker posted revenue of $347.2 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $364.5 million.

HICKORY, N.C. (AP) _ CommScope Holding Co. (COMM) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $45.6 million. On a per-share basis, the Hickory, North Carolina-based company said it had net income of 24 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 49 cents per share. The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.
