GUANGZHOU, China (AP) _ Sino Agro Food Inc. (SIAF) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $23.7 million. On a per-share basis, the Guangzhou, China-based company said it had profit of $5.13. The engineering and consulting company posted revenue of $109.2 million in the period. For the year, the company reported profit of $92.1 million, or $5.56 per share. Revenue was reported as $404.3 million.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. businesses slowed their pace of hiring in March, a private survey found. The slowdown suggests that falling oil prices, a stronger dollar and harsh winter weather have generated a broader economic slowdown. "Job growth took a step back in March," said Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics, which analyzed the survey data.

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia's largest oil company Rosneft said on Wednesday that it has settled a long-standing dispute with now-defunct oil company Yukos, whose owner spent 10 years in a Russian prison. Rosneft, which is led by President Vladimir Putin's long-time associate Igor Sechin, who was seen as the principal force behind the demise of Yukos, said in a statement that Yukos shareholders agreed on a settlement that will cease all litigation between them. A representative for Yukos shareholders confirmed the announcement.

TOKYO (AP) — The whiff of a Whopper made hundreds of customers hungry for a Burger King special — "Flame Grilled" cologne. Bottles of the special fragrance were sold at the fast-food chain's stores in Japan for a one-day promotion Wednesday for 5,000 yen (about $40), including a burger. At a downtown Tokyo outlet, 17-year-old student Yuki Ishibashi bought one out of curiosity. He described the scent as "spicy."
