WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate has approved another of President Barack Obama's nominees as it wraps up a week of near round-the-clock confirmation votes. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says Republicans have agreed to delay other votes that were expected through the weekend. Republicans had forced the Senate to stay in session — with prolonged overnight breaks — to clear several, mostly noncontroversial nominees after Democrats changed Senate filibuster procedures.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio Supreme Court has scheduled arguments in a closely-watched lawsuit that challenges the state's authority to supersede local zoning laws with centralized regulation of oil and gas drilling. It centers on a Beck project that began on private property in 2011 with state permission. In the process, the city contends the company sidestepped 11 local laws on road use, permitting and drilling.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The flagship game under development by Curt Schilling's defunct video game company hasn't been sold, because no acceptable offers were made at auction. Only two pieces of intellectual property sold for $320,000. The company was developing a "massively multiplayer" game in Providence with the help of a $75 million loan guarantee from Rhode Island's economic development agency.
