Campbell posts stronger soup sales but V8 declines

Campbell Soup reported third-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations as a colder winter and better ads helped boost soup sales, offsetting a decline in its V8 drinks. During the period, Campbell said sales for its U.S. Soup business rose 14 percent from a year ago, reflecting gains in all three categories: condensed soups, ready-to-serve soups and broths.
