CBS wins another Nielsen week with help from basketball and its roster of hit TV series

NEW YORK (AP) — Hoops and series hits have handed CBS another winning week, the Nielsen ratings company said. Not only did CBS win in total prime-time viewers for a sixth straight week, but it also won for a fourth consecutive week in the adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 demographics. CBS had 15 of the top 20 shows, led by the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship game between UConn and Kentucky, which drew 21.2 million viewers.

Atari makes Pong a bit more interesting _ gets into real-money gambling through deal

Atari, the maker of classic video games like "Pong" and "Centipede," is about to make things a bit more interesting for players. The company said Tuesday that it is getting into real-money gambling through a partnership with gambling company Pariplay. Pariplay will launch Atari's brands across a number of social, online and mobile platforms. This includes a website with real-money gambling on some of Atari's arcade classics, like Centipede, Asteroids and Pong.

Stocks notched modest gains Tuesday after a day of up-and-down trading as investors weighed encouraging earnings from Coca-Cola and Johnson & Johnson against a survey of U.S. homebuilders that showed the industry's confidence in the housing market remains low. On Tuesday: The Dow Jones industrial average rose 89.32 points, or 0.6 percent, to 16,262.56. The Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 12.37 points, or 0.7 percent, to 1,842.98.

Ga. judge won't stop state official from imposing rule aimed at protecting Vidalia onions

REIDSVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia judge says he won't stop the state agriculture commissioner from enforcing a new regulation aimed at stopping unripe Vidalia onions from reaching store shelves. Farmer Delbert Bland said he still plans to ship onions Wednesday despite the rule, which says no Vidalia onions can be packed for shipping before the last full week of April. Other farmers support the regulation as a means of protecting the reputation and quality of Vidalia onions.
