NEW YORK (AP) — A vintage Apple computer that was one of only 50 made in Steve Jobs' garage in 1976 has sold for $905,000 at auction in New York City. The still-working computer has an intact motherboard, as well as a vintage keyboard and monitor. The auction was Bonham's first sale in New York City of items connected to science and technology. Other lots included a letter by Charles Darwin to a colleague about the sex life of barnacles, and a Helmholtz sound synthesizer from 1905, the earliest electrical keyboard.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Days after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (KWOH'-moh) tempered expectations about how well his new memoir is selling, the first results are in. By contrast, Hillary Clinton's "Hard Choices" sold 100,000 copies in the first week and 247,000 since its June release. Cuomo says he's been too busy running for re-election and running the state to do a full-fledged promotional tour. He says that'll come later.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A California company that promised lucrative returns for a few hours of work at home was fined $25 million on Wednesday for misleading 110,000 people to buy into the scheme that almost never paid off. Buyers received instructions to locate excess inventory that Zaken was supposed to sell and split the profits. But 99.8 percent of customers never earned a dime.
