GameStop falls as stronger dollar and weaker game

GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) — Shares of GameStop Corp. slumped in aftermarket trading Thursday after the video game retailer said the stronger dollar hurt its sales in its fiscal fourth quarter and it gave a disappointing forecast for the current year. The Grapevine, Texas, company said currency exchange rates will reduce its fiscal 2015 sales by $300 million to $400 million and it expects sales of games for older video game consoles to stay weak.

Technology company Microsoft plans to ask its US suppliers to give employees paid time off

NEW YORK (AP) — Microsoft said Thursday that it will push its U.S. suppliers to give their employees paid time off — but that only applies for the staffers that do work for Microsoft. The announcement comes at a time when paid sick leave and income inequality have become hot topics. Earlier this year, President Barack Obama called on Congress to pass measures that would allow workers to earn up to seven days of paid leave.

New Jersey lawsuit against Florida pizza shop over Garden State Parkway logo tossed

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — The New Jersey Turnpike Authority's lawsuit against a Florida pizza shop for using a logo similar to the Garden State Parkway's green and yellow signs has been tossed. In his written ruling, he also said the company hasn't conducted business with residents in New Jersey other than branded merchandise that he says were arguably only purchased because of the publicity surrounding the lawsuit.

Fugitive Colombian millionaire at center of brokerage scandal caught in Spain, his lawyer says

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — A lawyer for a fugitive Colombian millionaire at the center of the South American nation's biggest financial scandal says his client has been arrested in Spain. Maldonado was the largest shareholder of Interbolsa, which had been Colombia's biggest brokerage before its 2012 collapse for defrauding clients.
