THOMSON, Ga. (AP) — A federal report says a private plane hit an unlisted utility pole at an airport, then crashed last year, killing a Georgia vascular surgeon and four of his colleagues. The jet was carrying Vein Guys medical practice employees the night of Feb. 20, 2013. The report says Georgia Department of Transportation inspections in 2010 and 2012 found that the airport met minimum state safety requirements, but didn't meet federal precision and visual approach requirements. Airport officials couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

NEW YORK (AP) — Argentina's economy minister led a last-gasp effort Wednesday to strike a deal with U.S. creditors that would prevent the South American country from slipping into default. A deal seemed more likely with news that representatives of Argentina's private banks association, ADEBA, were set to arrive Wednesday with an offer to buy out the debt. In return, the court would allow Argentina to make a $539 million interest payment to other bondholders before midnight, which would allow the country to avoid default.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Yelp Inc. (YELP) on Wednesday reported a second-quarter profit after posting a loss in the same period a year ago. The company's results beat analysts' expectations. The online business reviews provider said revenue rose 61 percent to $88.8 million from $55 million in the same quarter a year earlier, and beat Wall Street forecasts. Analysts expected $86.4 million, according to Zacks.
