DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Firefighters say they've extinguished a blaze at a 32-story office and retail building in Dubai. Brigadier Ahmad Obaid al-Sayegh, the acting director of Dubai's civil defense force, told The Associated Press that it wasn't a major fire. Social media footage of it shows a blaze burning the facade on the building's top floors.

An executive at a film studio is detained for allegedly taking bribes. The latest example came Monday when Guotai Junan International Holdings Ltd., the Hong Kong unit of a Chinese securities company, said it was unable to reach its chairman and chief executive Yim Fung since Nov. 18, sending its shares plummeting 12 percent.

Trading was light ahead of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. TURKEY-RUSSIA: The downing by Turkey of a Russian fighter plane that Turkey said had violated its airspace and ignored warnings added further complexity to the crisis in Syria. Russia said Turkey had betrayed it and that jets had not violated Turkish airspace, as NATO worked to reduce tensions at an extraordinary meeting.

Russia's Gazprom says it's halting gas supplies to Ukraine

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia's state-controlled gas company is halting supplies to Ukraine, its chief executive said Wednesday, less than two months after the two countries struck an EU-sponsored deal. Russia resumed gas shipments to Ukraine less than two months ago after the two countries signed an EU-brokered deal ensuring supplies through March.
