As bailout talks stall, Greek bank deposits fall to lowest level in more than a decade

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Bank deposits in Greece have hit their lowest in more than a decade, according to data released Friday, as Greeks concerned about the painfully slow pace of their government's talks with bailout creditors withdrew savings in an orderly but steady flow. The radical left-led government that was elected in January is running out of cash. It urgently needs to wind up negotiations with creditors on what reforms it must make to get a vital 7.2 billion euro ($7.8 billion) payment from the bailout plan that has kept it afloat for five years. Otherwise, the country could default within weeks and crash out of the euro currency union.

Healthy foods company hopes to add 200 to 250 jobs by expanding central Pennsylvania plant

HANOVER, Pa. (AP) — A company that sells specialty fresh vegetables and healthy party trays plans to add 200 to 250 employees by more than tripling the size of its south-central Pennsylvania operation. The plant already has 40 workers, but expanding it from 19,000 square feet to about 64,000 should enable the company to add the extra jobs.

US economy shrank at 0.7 percent rate in Q1, reflecting harsh winter and bigger trade gap

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. economy went into reverse in the first three months of this year as a severe winter and a widening trade deficit took a harsher toll than initially estimated. The revised figure, even weaker than the government's initial estimate of a 0.2 percent growth rate, reflects a bigger trade gap and slower consumer spending. It marked the first decline since a 2.1 percent contraction in the first three months of 2014, a slump that was also blamed on winter weather.

ZURICH (AP) — The latest on FIFA developments: ___ 14:30 p.m. (1230 GMT; 8:30 a.m. EDT) Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron says FIFA president Sepp Blatter must resign and "the sooner that happens the better." Asked about the FIFA scandals at a joint press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Cameron said it was "unthinkable" that Blatter was the right person to take the world soccer body forward after this week's corruption accusations.
