HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Hartford HealthCare has broken off merger talks with Day Kimball Healthcare, blaming Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's plan to cut Medicaid reimbursement payments. The Malloy administration announced last month it was planning more than $102 million in budget cuts to keep the state's $20 billion budget in balance. About $63.4 million would come from the Department of Social Services in the form of state Medicaid payments to hospitals.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Former Philadelphia NAACP president J. Whyatt "Jerry" Mondesire, a longtime civil rights activist, editor and publisher, has died. He was 65. Mondesire, longtime president of Philadelphia's NAACP chapter until last year and publisher of the Philadelphia Sunday Sun, was a former reporter and editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer. A founding member of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists, he also was a community affairs host on WDAS-FM.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Former Philadelphia NAACP president and journalist J. Whyatt "Jerry" Mondesire (MAHN'-deh-zyr) has died. He was 65. Mondesire's family says in a statement he died Sunday at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Philly.com reports that Mondesire was having dialysis at a local hospital Friday when he suffered a brain aneurysm. He was transferred to Jefferson and placed on a ventilator.

Hackers may have stolen data from 7 Trump hotels, company confirms, after extended breach

NEW YORK (AP) — Customer credit and debit card numbers may have been stolen at seven Trump hotels after its payment systems were hacked for nearly a year. Potential thefts occurred at the Trump SoHo New York, Trump International New York, Trump National Doral in Miami, Trump International Chicago, Trump International Waikiki in Hawaii, Trump International Hotel and Tower Las Vegas and Trump International Toronto.
