WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama banned new investments in Crimea on Friday, slapping sanctions on the peninsula that Russia annexed from Ukraine earlier this year. The order prohibits U.S. companies or individuals from exporting or importing any goods, services or technology to or from Crimea. Likewise, U.S. individuals or companies cannot buy real estate or businesses in Crimea or finance Crimean companies.

1st drone authorized for Nevada test program crashes in front of dignitaries during ceremony

(AP) — An aerial drone testing program got off to a bumpy start Friday in Nevada, when the first unmanned aircraft authorized to fly without direct Federal Aviation Administration supervision crashed during a ceremony at a remote site. "This is testing," the governor said. "This is why we're here."

California man accused of groping teenager on flight from LA to Salt Lake City pleads guilty

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A California man accused of groping and sexually propositioning a teenage girl on a flight from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City pleaded guilty to a reduced charge Friday. The girl reported the incident to security shortly after the plane landed. When Loudermilk saw her talking to officers, he entered an airport gift shop, removed his button-up shirt and replaced it with a jacket, possibly to duck police, prosecutors said.

FDA approves AbbVie combo hepatitis C treatment, part of wave of better, less-toxic options

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Patients with chronic hepatitis C have a new option for treating the liver-damaging virus, with the approval of a combination treatment developed by AbbVie. It includes a combination pill, which contains the antiviral drugs ombitasvir, paritaprevir and ritonavir, along with a tablet of dasabuvir. All the ingredients are new except for ritonavir, which works to increase blood levels of paritaprevir.
