For first time, online viewers won't miss Super Bowl TV ads, under new ad-sale policy from CBS

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Next year, you won't have to worry about missing the buzziest commercials of the Super Bowl if you can't get to a TV. This time, CBS says it's making all advertisers buy an online spot with their on-air time, so ads seen during the online simulcast will be the same as the ones on TV.

Brazil's Petrobras receives more than $20 million recovered in corruption-kickback scandal

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazil's state-owned oil company has received the equivalent of more than $20 million that was recovered as a result of an investigation into a corruption-kickback scandal engulfing Petrobras. The statement says the amount represents about 80 percent of the nearly $29 million repatriated in April from a Swiss bank account opened by former Petrobras executive Pedro Barusco. He's charged with receiving bribes from some of the country's top construction firms.

Ebola vaccine seems effective, could stop current outbreak and prevent future disasters

LONDON (AP) — An experimental Ebola vaccine tested on thousands of people in Guinea seems to work and might help shut down the waning epidemic in West Africa, according to interim results from a study published Friday. "If proven effective, this is going to be a game-changer," said Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization, which sponsored the study. "It will change the management of the current outbreak and future outbreaks."

Clinton, in Rubio's and Bush's back yard, will call for lifting Cuba embargo

MIAMI (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday will call on Congress to end the trade embargo the U.S. has imposed against Cuba since 1962. Perhaps more importantly, it draws a sharp contrast with two top Republican presidential contenders from Florida, Sen. Marco Rubio and former Gov. Jeb Bush, at a time when younger Cuban-American voters in Florida are softening their stance on the matter. The Republican-led Congress is unlikely to allow such a change in U.S.-Cuba relations anytime soon.
