Cuomo, legislative leaders announce casino deal

Gov. Andrew Cuomo and legislative leaders agreed Wednesday to authorize four upstate New York casinos designed to drive jobs and tourism to the long economically distressed area. The deal also authorizes two video slot centers of 1,000 machines each on Long Island run by the off-track betting agencies of Suffolk and Nassau counties.
CSX sues truck driver in Baltimore-area derailment

A trash truck driver caused the explosive derailment of a CSX freight train near Baltimore last month by failing to stop at a railroad crossing, the company contends in a federal lawsuit. Suitland lawyer John F.X. Costello, named in a court document as the defense attorney, said he hasn't been hired to represent either defendant. He declined to comment on the case.
Keryx shares rise on analyst's Zerenex forecast

Shares of Keryx Biopharmaceuticals Inc. rose Wednesday after a JPMorgan analyst started covering the stock with an "Overweight" rating and a positive view on the company's experimental drug Zerenex. THE BIG PICTURE: Keryx has no approved drugs and Zerenex is its only product in clinical testing. The company is preparing to file for marketing approval of the drug as a treatment for hyperphosphatemia in dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease.
