Chesapeake names Anadarko executive as new CEO

Chesapeake Energy has named Anadarko Petroleum executive Robert Douglas Lawler as its new CEO. The appointment of the 46-year-old Lawler comes after a tough year during which Chesapeake's board ousted its founder and the company worked to shore up its finances. The new CEO takes over as Chesapeake continues selling assets to pare down an enormous debt burden. Chesapeake intends to sell $4 billion to $7 billion in assets this year. It has sold about $2 billion so far in deals that have either been signed or finalized.
Websense agrees to be taken private for $905.9M

Shares of Websense surged in premarket trading on Monday after the data security company agreed to be taken private for about $905.9 million. Websense stockholders will receive $24.75 for each share they own, which is a 29 percent premium to the company's Friday closing price of $19.23. Websense Inc. has about 36.6 million outstanding shares, according to FactSet.
Freeport-McMoRan, Plains to pay special dividends

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold and Plains Exploration & Production said Monday that they both will pay special one-time cash dividends when Freeport-McMoRan's acquisition of the oil and gas company closes. Freeport-McMoRan said its board plans to declare a supplemental dividend of $1, which would be in addition to its regular quarterly common stock dividend of 31.25 cents. Based on about 1.04 billion outstanding common shares, the supplemental dividend payment will be about $1 billion, the company said.
Dell needs more info from Icahn, Southeastern

Dell says it needs more information about billionaire Carl Icahn and Southeastern Asset Management's alternative buyout offer before it could possibly give two of its biggest shareholders more information about the PC maker. Dell said that unless it receives the information that it requested, it is not in a position to evaluate whether the alternative bid is a superior proposal or not.
