US court rules casino site issue still undecided

A federal appeals court says a key legal issue remains unresolved regarding whether a southern Arizona tribe was rightfully awarded reservation status for its planned casino site in the Phoenix area. "We are very pleased that the 9th Circuit has knocked down more of the opposition's spurious arguments," Tohono O'odham Nation Chairman Ned Norris Jr. said in a statement. "The Nation is currently reviewing the court's request for additional information and we look forward to this matter being expeditiously resolved" by the Interior Department.
Palisades water tank repairs take to early summer

Operators of the idled Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in southwestern Michigan say repairs to a tank that leaked slightly radioactive water into Lake Michigan will take until early summer to complete. The plant is in Van Buren County's Covert Township, about 80 miles east-northeast of Chicago, New Orleans-based Entergy Corp. idled the plant May 5 after operators found a tank leaking faster than regulations allow. Some slightly radioactive water entered Lake Michigan, but the Nuclear Regulatory Commission says there was no public health risk.
Record amount of cargo passes through Ga. ports

A record 2.4 million tons of cargo moved through the state's ports in April, Georgia Ports Authority officials announced Monday. The state's drawing power in the shipping industry has been bolstered by companies like Haier appliances, Kent bicycles and Pep Boys recently choosing to ship goods through the Port of Savannah, GPA Executive Director Curtis Foltz said in a statement.
