Internet radio company Pandora Media Inc. reported higher-than-expected revenue in the latest quarter, with losses in line with analysts' forecasts, as the number of subscribers who pay for ad-free listening more than doubled to exceed 2.5 million. The upbeat results reported Thursday are a positive sign for the Internet startup as competition in digital music gets tougher. Google Inc. launched a paid subscription plan called All Access last week, and Apple Inc. is expected to unveil a free radio streaming plan later this year.

An 87-year-old grandmother took on billionaire Donald Trump. And on Thursday _ she lost. The federal jury in Chicago returned with a finding in Trump's favor after deliberating for more than five hours over two days. Goldberg, of Evanston, had sought damages totaling around $6 million. "He's obviously very happy," said Alan Garten, an executive vice president of The Trump Organization, after talking with his boss _ who wasn't in court. In the wake of the trial, Garten added, "The Trump brand is stronger than ever."
