Yan's detention hearing is set to begin Friday in Little Rock. Zhang has a hearing set for Tuesday in Kansas.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Honeywell announced a $5 billion share repurchase program Friday. The industrial conglomerate said that it has nearly completed an existing $3 billion buyback. The new repurchase plan is part of its broader cash deployment strategy. The Morris Township, N.J., company has roughly 784.7 million shares outstanding.

WASHINGTON (AP) — After a sweeping vote by conservative Republicans controlling the House and President Barack Obama's Democratic allies, a bipartisan budget pact is in the hands of the Senate, where it will encounter stronger but probably futile resistance from Republicans. At the same time, Democrats who were upset that the bill would not extend jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed suppressed their doubts to advance the measure to the Democratic-led Senate, where Obama's allies appear set to clear it next week for his signature.

SEATTLE (AP) — A machinists union is mulling the logistics of having its members in the Puget Sound vote on a proposed contract from Boeing Co., even after local union leaders said they couldn't recommend it to their members. A latest round of contract talks collapsed Thursday after local officials with the Machinists said they could not recommend Boeing's latest proposal to members. Local Machinists spokesman Bryan Corliss says Boeing has withdrawn the contract offer.
