Eurostar trains turned back after migrants trespass on rail tracks around Calais

PARIS (AP) — Hundreds of Eurostar train passengers trying to travel under the English Channel were stranded in France and Britain after migrants climbed on tracks overnight in the port city of Calais, officials said Wednesday. Two trains were sent back to their original stations, one train was blocked at Calais and three other trains were delayed because of individuals trespassing on the rails near Calais, Eurostar said in a statement.

NEW YORK (AP) — Several of the top Internet-connected baby monitors lack basic security features, making them vulnerable to hackers, according to new report from a cybersecurity firm. The researchers found security problems and design flaws in all of the cameras they tested. Some had hidden, unchangeable passwords that could be used to gain access. And some didn't encrypt their data streams, or some of their web or mobile features.

Judge grants class-action status to case in California against Uber over payment of drivers

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal judge granted class-action status to a lawsuit in California against Uber over the payment of its drivers, upping the stakes for the ride-hailing company in the case. "Today's ruling sets the stage for a trial and a legal battle that will have dramatic implications for Uber's business model as well as more generally how independent contractors are viewed under California law," said Lonnie Giamela, a labor lawyer in Los Angeles who has been following the case.
