Oil falls below $94 on weak outlook for demand
1 hour, 48 minutes ago
The price of oil was knocked below $94 a barrel Friday by a combination of ample supplies and lukewarm demand. Benchmark oil for July delivery was down 36 cents to $93.91 a barrel in midday trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. On Thursday, oil fell as low as $92.91 after weak manufacturing data from China raised questions about the strength of oil demand in the world's No. 2 economy. It closed at $94.25 a barrel in New York, down 3 cents. That followed a report from the U.S. Energy Department showing the country is well-supplied with oil, and gasoline demand remains below year-ago levels.

Minn. governor signs solar energy standard
1 hour, 50 minutes ago
Minnesota's investor-owned utilities will be required to get 1.5 percent of their power from solar energy by 2020 under legislation signed by Gov. Mark Dayton. The solar energy standard also sets a statewide goal of reaching 10 percent by 2030. The proposal was championed by the Minnesota Clean Energy and Jobs campaign. The coalition says the law takes Minnesota farther down the road to a clean, renewable energy future by making solar energy cheaper and more accessible for consumers, while creating well-paying, permanent jobs across the state.

Produce such as strawberries, asparagus and rhubarb is beginning to become available, and later crops such as radishes, carrots, green beans and leafy greens should be harvested soon.
