Buckle 1Q profit dips as operating expenses rise

Buckle's net income fell slightly for the first quarter as operating expenses rose. The retailer, known for denim, posted earnings of $37.6 million, or 78 cents per share. That compares with $37.8 million, or 79 cents per share, a year ago. Analysts predicted earnings of 82 cents per share, according to a FactSet poll.
New Zealand meat exports to China to resume

New Zealand authorities say exports of frozen lamb, beef and mutton to China should resume next week after a paperwork problem resulted in hundreds of tons of meat getting stranded at Chinese docks. Exporters say China stopped accepting any of their frozen meat two or three weeks ago and it has piled up on the docks there since. Because the meat is frozen, it hasn't spoiled and should now get clearance for sale and consumption.
