DETROIT (AP) — Ford Motor Co. has agreed to government demands to expand a driver's side air bag inflator recall to the entire U.S. Ford's action puts pressure on BMW and Chrysler, the only two automakers that haven't agreed to national recalls. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration made the demand of five automakers, saying the inflators are dangerous. Honda and Mazda already took their recalls national.

EU leaders meet to talk about how to jumpstart growth, deal long term with Russia

BRUSSELS (AP) — Leaders of the 28 European Union countries are meeting to talk about two major issues —how to jumpstart sluggish economic growth at home, and how to deal long-term with Russia. The fund is supposed to leverage EU seed money into up to 315 billion euros ($386 billion) of public and private investment to upgrade infrastructure, create jobs and stimulate growth.

DENVER (AP) — Researchers say they have collected promising weather data by flying instrument-laden drones into big Western and Midwestern storms. Now, they want to expand the project in hopes of learning more about how tornadoes form. The University of Colorado and University of Nebraska announced this week that they have formed the Unmanned Aircraft System and Severe Storms Research Group to develop the program.

Kraft Foods Group CEO Vernon plans to retire; Chairman Cahill named as successor

NORTHFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Kraft Foods Group Inc. says that CEO Tony Vernon plans to retire later this month. The company named Chairman John Cahill as his successor. Vernon has served as CEO since the company's spinoff from Mondelez International in October 2012. While Vernon plans to retire from the CEO post on Dec. 27, he will remain with the Northfield, Illinois-based company through March 31, 2015 as a senior adviser. He will also continue as a board member until the next annual meeting. Vernon will be 59 when he retires as a director.
