Dimon also received strong support to be re-elected to the bank's board of directors. Here's a breakdown of the vote: _James Bell, retired executive vice president of aerospace giant Boeing, received the backing of 93.5 percent of investors.

Ex-Ford execs charged in Argentine torture cases

Three former Ford Motor Co. executives have been charged with crimes against humanity in Argentina for allegedly targeting union workers for kidnapping and torture after the country's 1976 military coup. Factory director Pedro Muller, human resources chief Guillermo Galarraga and security manager Hector Francisco Jesus Sibilla are accused of giving names, ID numbers, pictures and home addresses to security forces who hauled two-dozen union workers off the factory floor to be tortured and interrogated and then sent to military prisons. Judge Alicia Vence said Tuesday that eliminating union resistance inside Ford's Argentina subsidiary was their goal.

Among the earnings stories for Tuesday, May 21, from AP Business News: _ The TJX Cos., the parent company of TJ Maxx and Marshalls clothing stores, said that its fiscal first-quarter net income rose 8 percent to match Wall Street predictions. _ Saks Inc., the luxury retailer, said that its net income fell 38 percent in the first quarter, but its adjusted results topped analysts' expectations and a key revenue metric climbed.

NFL, Xbox enhancing interactive television viewing

The NFL and Microsoft, through its next generation Xbox device, are combining to upgrade interactive TV viewing of pro football games in a multiyear agreement announced Tuesday. The next step after that, perhaps as early as 2014, will be bringing technology to the sidelines on tablets.
